Pearls are one of the most important wedding trends of recent years. Classically, pearls were associated with the purity and innocence of the bride, timeless beauty, longevity, today pearls are a modern element associated with the clean chic style and wedding minimalism.

In our wedding editorial, we played with the idea of a pearl, using it as a repeating form in various moments of a wedding day. Accessories, decorated candles and unique stationery with pearls, wedding cake and even the hand-decorated jacket of the groom- all relate to the idea of pearls and repeat the round white shape, making it a unique shaping element of the wedding day design.

In the 19th century, the Château Bouffemont hosted prestigious ceremonies for its former residents, the Marquise of Preignes and Baron Empain. Just 30 kilometers from the center of Paris and nestled in the heart of Montmorency Forest, this venue offers a backdrop of classic French architecture. The brick walls of the palace evoke the elegant hue of mocha mousse, inspiring us to explore this concept further by incorporating a wedding dress and other elements in this sophisticated colour palette into our shoot.

The notion that only brides can wear pearls is rooted in tradition, where pearls symbolize purity and are often associated with bridal attire. However, fashion is continually evolving, and many contemporary couples are breaking away from these conventions. By incorporating pearls into the groom’s attire, we are embracing a modern and stylish approach that adds a unique fashion flair to his look. At the wedding party, draping his pearl jacket over her shoulders can be a wonderful enhancement to her bridal look.

The classic symbolic meaning is put in the modern context, but it still emphasises the connection between beauty and nature, simplicity and sophistication and the purity of feelings between the two getting married.
